Selected by our distinguished jury, the overall winner of the 2012 'The Future we Want: Drop by Drop' competition will receive a 5000€ cash prize from the Nordic Council of Ministers. An award ceremony will take place in June 2012 where the winner of the competition will be invited to receive the prize in Copenhagen, Denmark in the presence of the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark on 5 June 2012.
A "youth prize" will be provided by Fabrica for participants that are 25 years old or under. Founded in 1994 by Luciano Benetton and Oliviero Toscani, Fabrica is the Benetton Group communication research centre. It aims to combine culture with industry and offer young designers and artists from around the world an opportunity for creative growth and multicultural exchange. Fabrica is based in Treviso, Italy.
The winner, chosen by Fabrica, will receive a two week trial period, which if successful could lead to a full year grant and internship at Fabrica. The two-week trial includes tutoring, facilities, work station, hospitality in a shared apartment in Treviso (30 minutes from Venice) and lunch at the Fabrica restaurant. UNRIC will cover the round-trip travel costs of the trial winner.
A public vote prize will be offered by the Portuguese Government to the entry receiving the most votes from the public. Although the competition is only open to Europeans, everyone from around the world can vote for their favourite ad. The winner of the Public Vote Prize will be invited to participate in an awards ceremony in Paris, France, in June 2012 (date to be confirmed soon).
